ASOS is an English online store in fashion and cosmetics. The company was founded in 2000 in London and focused primarily on sheltered children and young adults.
ASOS currently markets over 850 different brands of clothing and accessories, with sales in 196 countries. They have distribution centres and warehouses in the UK, USA and Europe.
Originally ASOS stood for AsSeenOnScreen as the business idea was to sell what you could see on film and TV. They sold clothes like the ones worn by actors in famous films. Like Brad Pitt’s red leather jacket in the 1999 film Fight Club. With time and the evolution of the business concept changed and the abbreviation has lost that meaning.
The company is a public company on the London Stock Exchange and the largest shareholder today is the Danish Bestseller A/S.
Since 2018 there is a Swedish website aimed at the Swedish market. There is an entire Swedish team working for ASOS Sweden. The launch in Sweden has been successful and interestingly, ASOS Sweden is now larger in turnover than Amazon Sweden.
ASOS customer service is online with live chat so you can’t call directly if you want help ASOS contact.
The company often has favourable offers and discount code schemes available online with discount codes to download as well as a 10% student discount for students.
ASOS delivery time to Sweden ranges from one to a few days when shipped from the warehouse outside Berlin.
Shopping online isn’t always easy, but if you’re buying an ASOS dress, for example, there’s a detailed guide to the different body measurements, as well as a conversion table for different measurement systems. As we are all created differently with different shapes, there are different sizes for different body types such as ASOS tall, petite, curve or maternity.
Accessories, shoes and make-up are also a big part of the range and in the later years before Christmas a limited edition advent calendar is sold. ASOS has one for both men and women with 24 days of face and body care products, one for each day.
All online purchases at ASOS have you have up to 28 days to return your goods and ASOS aims to refund your money within 14 days of it arriving. For returns, the product must be in its original condition and unused, and cosmetics and skincare products must not have broken seals.
ASOS Marketplace is a separate website and business but with the same owner. Marketplace is a separate business but like a younger sister to the usual ASOS. ASOS Marketplace sells hot new brands, vintage and indie clothing, as well as selected second-hand and retro clothing at low prices.
